California Privacy Rights Notice

 

California has two data protection laws; the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Both are intended to protect the privacy of consumers in California. "Consumers" refers to anyone residing in California.

 

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is essentially designed to regulate social networks, data brokers and large corporations. Atlantic Im- & Export Corp is not required to comply with the CCPA as it does not fall within the parameters of how the law defines what businesses it applies to.  

 

The California Online Privacy Protection Act CalOPPA applies to "An operator of a commercial Web site or online service that collects personally identifiable information through the Internet about individual consumers residing in California who use or visit its commercial Web site or online service [...]." 

 

This Privacy Policy describes how Atlantic Im- & Export Corp complies with CalOPPA as well as legislation from other jurisdictions that may be similar. It also includes elements that go beyond CalOPPA’s minimum requirements to incorporate qualities of the CCPA and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

 

The following provisions apply to our processing of information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with personally identifiable information both online and offline.

 

Sale of Your Personally Identifiable Information

Atlantic Im- & Export Corp does not sell any personally identifiable information. CalOPPA defines this as "individually identifiable information about an individual consumer collected online by the operator from that individual and maintained by the operator in an accessible form."

 

Your Rights

We support certain rights related to your California personally identifiable information. These include:

• Access - You have the right to request that we disclose and deliver the categories of personally identifiable information we have collected about you, or the specific pieces of personally identifiable information the business has collected about you;

• Deletion - You have the right to request the deletion of your personally identifiable information in certain situations, except where the law allows a business to maintain a Consumer’s personally identifiable information, including where the personally identifiable information is necessary to perform a contract or transaction between the business and the purchaser;

• Non-Discrimination - You have the right to not be discriminated against, including but not limited to the right to not be charged different prices or rates for products or services or denying you access to products or services, on the basis of your decision to exercise any of your rights described herein.

• Opt-Out - You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personally identifiable information, but as stated above, Atlantic Im- & Export Corp does not sell your personally identifiable information.

As required under applicable law, please note that we may take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to information or acting on your request to exercise your rights. We may require you to provide additional personal information as necessary to verify your identity in response to exercising requests of the above type. We may limit our response to your exercise of the above rights as permitted under applicable law. Under California law, you may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. You may make such a designation by providing the agent with written permission to act on your behalf. As permitted by law, we may require you to verify your own identity in response to a request even if you choose to use an agent. We may deny a request by an agent if they fail to submit proof that they act on your behalf.

 

Your access to and control over information

• Change/correct any data we have about you.

• Have us delete any data we have about you.

California Personally Identifiable Information We Collect

We collect the personally identifiable information that you choose to enter on our website, or that you may choose to give us some other way, such as by email, physical mail, fax or telephone. Below is a list of categories of personally identifiable information that we may have collected within the last 12 months.

1. Identifiers such as a real name, alias, postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, Internet Protocol address, email address, account name, or other similar identifiers.

2. Personal information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with, a particular individual, including, but not limited to their name, telephone number or employer.

3. Commercial information, including records of products or services described on our website that you purchased, obtained, or considered.

We do not collect information such as:

• Personal information that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with a particular individual’s signature, passwords, education, health information, employment history, credit card number, debit card number, or any other financial information.

• Characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law (such as race, gender, age, disability status.)

• Education information that is not publicly available personally identifiable information.

• Inferences drawn from any of the information identified herein to create a profile about you reflecting your preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.

 

Sources

For any of the categories that we may have collected California personally identifiable information, it could have been obtained from a variety of sources. These sources include: yourself, with respect to both online and offline interactions you may have with us or our service providers including your email correspondence with us; other entities with whom you transact business; others with whom you maintain relationships who may deal with us on your behalf; the devices you use to access our websites, mobile applications, and online services; credit bureaus; identity verification and fraud prevention services; marketing and analytics providers; public databases; social media platforms; postal services and others consistent with this Notice.

 

How Information is Used

We use the information we gather to provide services to you and to respond to your inquiries. This includes:

• Providing services, including to:

  • Allow you to purchase products online when our website has that capability;

We may also process your personally identifiable information to fulfill the purposes for which you provide it, or with your consent.

 

How we share information

If or when we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of personally identifiable information is reasonably necessary, we may share information with:

Atlantic Im- & Export Corp does not sell, rent or lease any personally identifiable information.

 

Do Not Track signals 

The ability for our website to respond to a Do Not Track signal from your browser falls upon Wix.com, the platform we used to build this website. Wix states in their privacy policy that their platform does not respond to Do Not Track signals.

 

Controlling your own Do Not Track settings

You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when you close the browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or using a search engine such as Google to find guidance pertaining to how to control cookies on your browser. We also suggest keeping your browser version up-to-date. If you haven't already, set your browser to update automatically. This eliminates security vulnerabilities caused by outdated browsers. Many cookie-based exploits are based on exploiting older browsers' security shortcomings.
